Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers-8

I've just found out about this from Stamping Caz's site, check this link for more info Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers basically it's introducing you to 19 other like minded 'sisters' to inspire and help each other out :) I have just added my name to group 8 - hopefully there will be a group full soon. All I have to do now is add a little bit about myself for my sisters, I live in Leicestershire, UK with my husband Steve and 4 cats. I started crafting many years ago making salt dough models and folk art painting, I slowly made the change to card making and tried rubber stamping and haven't looked back.

My evening that is... I got in from work, dyed my hair, nipped to the shop for milk and now it's gone 9.00!! I have been internet window shopping though lol. I have drooled at the Zoomz at Stampgalaxy I have been nosing at the new xmas Elzybells catalogue cute new penguins, and I have been onto the craft forum....oh and I have also been to Pinkpetticoat to look at their new downloads. So I guess that's where it's gone :)
I'm going to have a quick game of sudoko then colour some images now that I have discovered that sansodor works with wax crayons (I got 100 for a £1 at the weekend just to try them) and the results are really good. I will try to post some piccies tomorrow.

I have bought a magnolia stamp which I've stamped twice and coloured in and I have bought a couple of downloads from Pinkpetticoat, which are all gorgeous but still I can't be bothered :(
Well fingers crossed I will be back to it soon.

Nice Matters

A big hug to Kerryn and Lisa for nominating me for this award. I really appreciate it :-x
Now the idea is that I have to nominate 5 people for the award, now the nicest people I know are on a forum I use so I will be posting a picture of this award on there for everyone to see, I know that it is supposed to got to bloggers but all my fellow bloggers have already had this and I wanted to be different :)

Missing Mail

It's been a while (again) since my last post, I have all these plans during the day what I'm going to do when I get home, but then they all disappear once I've sat down here. Mind you Big Brother takes away part of the evening :)

I thought I would show a card that I made for Kerrie and posted nearly a month ago along with a few 'bits' but as of yet has still not made it to her.... lost in the void they call 'the sorting room' I guess, it might show up one day you never know!!
It is Emmybella from stampingbella which I have stamped the ricrac ribbon down the sides.

Fame :)

Well I thought I would share with you a scan of the readers cards in this months Card Making & Papercraft..... it's me lol. My first card in print and I was so excited when they told me it was going to be in the mag.

Time flies

God I can't believe how long it's been since my last post. I have been back at work this week and what a shock to the system, 8-5 5 days a week is too blooming long lol. I have only managed 1 card recently but I did trash my craft area in making it! I decided to make a Christmas card so out came the boxes of Christmas stuff, all the papers, stamps punches etc then ended up making quite a simple card :) The inspiration came from Becky (thanks hun)

Tagged

Well thank you to Kerrie (mwah) who has tagged me, I now have to tell you 7 random things about me.....
  1. I play sudoku every day when I first switch my pc on.
  2. I love rubber stamps
  3. I once had 18 guinea pigs and 4 rabbits most of which were rescues
  4. I think I have a make-up fetish... I have a draw FULL of make up and keep buying more :)
  5. I love 'Boy Bands'...Mcfly, Busted, etc, etc
  6. I used to go to the reading and Phoenix music fesivals every year (ooh the mud!!)
  7. I would love to have one of those trampolines that B&Q sell

Now I'm supposed to tag 7 other bloggers to do the same.... Unfortunatley I don't know any other bloggers that haven't already been tagged within the last week so I will have to leave it... for now. If I find any I will get them!!

Chipboard Embelishments

Well it's been a few days and I've not made any cards, but I have made some of these embelishments. I had a link from my friend Kerrie for this site Madscrappergirl where there are some really good tips. I didn't have any chipboard to hand but I did have some picture frame mount so used that. Basically you cut your board, add peel offs or rub ons then coat with a glaze, I used Anita's 3D clear gloss and leave to dry. I then tried cutting the board with my Big Shot and inking them before glazing. I'm very impressed with how these have turned out and they feel like the 'real' chipboard embelishments. I just need to work on getting the air bubbles out before it sets!!

The missing pic

Here is my layout for murray, after searching for some decent pictures of him I gave up and took some new ones today. He's normally asleep during the day and out at night so the photo opportunities are rare!
I have used a layout by Lindsay Jane Designs they are so much easier to work with than starting from scratch.

Digital Scrapbooking

I have been playing with digital scrapbooking over the past fews days and here are the first 3 attempts, I still have one more cat to do!! I notice that most of my cat pictures feature them lazing about, they have such a hard life lol.
I have used templates for these, which is a great way to get started, and paint shop pro 8 which I have learned so much about recently. Templates by Misty Cato, Kate Hill and Andrea Gold

Another one

Here is a card made with a Penny Black stamp called City Divine, I received this and another girlie stamp with my subscription to Beautiful Cards Magazine (worth almost the price of the sub I think!!)

Today's offerings

I have been playing with Bellas today, I had already stamped out the images and coloured them (along with many others) I just needed to turn them into cards :)
I am trying to tidy up around here lol it won't last. I had so much 'stuff' hanging about on my desk mainly stamped images but also bits of paper and a couple of ribbon bows that I was practising at the weekend and some gorgeous Bazzill Bling flowers that I received as part of a swap on a fantastic forum that I'm on.
I have managed to at least see my cutting mat now so I must be on the right track.
I am so in love with these ladies, the thought came to me the other day that they are like Barbie dolls for 'grown ups' You can dress them up in loads of pretty outfits - only limited by your imagination.

New to this malarchy

Well this is my first blog, after reading many others over the last few months I decided to give it a go. It seemed like a good idea at the time, now that I'm sat here I'm not so sure :)
