WOYWW #174

I've not posted for the last couple of weeks as I've not had much to show on my desk, as I've been trying to tidy things up (and not succeeding) so here is my desk as it is now, as you can see I'm being 'assisted' by Billy

Yesterday I spotted an ad in a magazine for a craft shop that's less than 10miles away, so off I trotted today to check it out :) mmmm new dies, I don't think I can walk past dies without NEEDING them.

And I was playing yesterday colouring this little chap up, it's the first time I've tried stamping the lines with very pale ink so you don't get the black outline, I like the effect but more practice required.

Thanks for stopping by and have a look here at more work desks.

Catching up

I was on holiday for a week at the start of this month and I don't seem to be getting anywhere fast now I'm back! I did rearrange all my dies onto magnetic sheets, splitting sets to get all the flowers together, swirls etc. and then getting sidetracked (as you do) and cutting thing out. I have however managed to get a card finished for my next-door neighbours birthday.

60 shape designed on sure cuts a lot, and cut with cricut. After seeing my step-moms card, I borrowed the idea for the inside, so sized the card the match the oval die. I die cut the swirl out of funky foam to make a stamp which I used with versamark and mica powder to create the background. The rolled roses have got glitter glue around the edges and the leaves have got mica powder for sparkle. Thanks for looking :)

WOW Monochromatic

I have been having a play today, making notebook covers. I bought some plain notebooks from Wilkinsons for 18p each and have been 'pimping' them up.
I made these 2 for the challenge over at WOW! embossing powders

I started with some plain grey card (see previous post!)
The first cover, I stamped and embossed the brick wall (dimension stamps) in black, rubbed white acrylic paint over the top and wiped it off the embossing, I then stamped the butterfly stamp (chocolate baroque) and embossed with black twinkle embossing powder (WOW) then inked the edges with black soot distress ink.
The second cover was stamped with a script stamp (indigoBlu) and embossed with bright white (WOW), then inked over the edges with black soot distress ink and again wiped it off the embossing, then the butterfly stamp was again embossed with black sparkle.
The camera doesn't really do the sparkle embossing justice, they are sooo glittery :)

Something from nothing

I had to pop to hubby's work this week, while I was there he commented on the amount of card that goes for recycling, straight away my mind went into overdrive. So off I went with a couple of sheets. As soon as I got home I tried die cutting it, it works great with thin dies, so I asked if he could save me some...... here's what he came home with :)

So I have been playing, first I cut some rolled flowers (die-namics mini royal roses) and used distress inks to colour. I then googled for a paper flower pot and found this origami one here I used one 6x6 sheet of patterned paper. I then cut some more card to make some soil and again used ink to colour.
Close up of the soil in place and some card leaves.
And a close up of the finished bouquet :)
Please ignore the state of my thumb nail!! that distress ink makes a right mess of them.
How cute and dinky is this?

New stash

Here a couple of pictures of the new stamps and dies that I bought at the weekend. So I have spent the week in die cutting heaven :) using all those scraps of card. I need to have a play with the stamps soon!!

I'm a bit late posting this, but it's still Wednesday :)
I'm having a die cutting frenzy at the moment, so as usual my crafting space is cluttered :)
There are some new indigo blu stamps that I bought at the great British craft festival at the weekend along with some new marianne dies. You can just make out a quick card that I made with some of the new dies.
And if you're wondering why I'm sharing this information check out

Wedding post box

Woohoo I finished it :)
I really struggled with this, I just couldn't get started, and had no real plan!! So I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

WOYWW #167

I've not played along with What's on you workdesk Wednesday for a while, but I thought I'd share a slightly different take on it this week. I think either 'what's NOT on your workdesk Wednesday' or 'can you see my workdesk Wednesday' seems to work quite well this week.
I have been asked to decorate a wedding post box, so this is work in progress. The 2 boards are holding on the handmade bows (have you ever tried to make bows with florist ribbon??) while the glue gel sets. I then have some cricut lettering to add and perhaps some die cut butterflies.
And if you are wandering what I'm talking about check out and have a nose at other crafty spaces :)

LOTV Anniversary

I'm not very good at remembering to post photos on my blog !!
Here is a card I made recently using quite a few of my new dies and a stamp from Lili of the valley. Here I have coloured the image with watercolour pencils and inked all the edges with distress inks
And the inside to match, using a postage stamp (see the thought process I used here ha ha) also from Lili of the valley

Butterfly Birthday

Boy did I love making this card.
I had googled fancy fold cards for some inspiration and came across this one and loved the shape.
The image is theodore flowers from bugaboo  coloured with prisma pencils and solvent. The main background is a fiskars texture plate, embossed in the big shot. the top half is brick and I have used a wave on the bottom for the grass. The picket fence is a marianne design, stamped with swirls and flowers and hearts. The butterflies are joy crafts dies, inked edges and glittered bodies and attached to a piece of acetate to make them flitter. The trees were cut on the cricut and inked and stamped with a clevercut stamp, the cloud background was made by hand cutting some cloud shapes and chalking round them. The bear and the fence have been glued with pinflair glue for a bit of dimension.

New stash and a card

I went shopping yesterday to buy some new tops.... here's what I came home with, oops.

But in my defence, I did look for clothes first but didn't see anything, and I did get these out of my birthday money :)
And here's the card I made today using a couple of the new dies, and some I already had.

The stamped image is from a new set I had last week (lol) from chocolate baroque called butterfly flourish swirls.

Dads day

This is the card I made for my Dad :)

The background is made with an embossing folder which I have inked before putting it through my big shot. The sentiments are computer printed and tied onto the card with string that I dyed with glimmer mist. The rosette was made by scoring a strip of card and joining into a circle, then trying to hold it flat while the glue dried! The mesh is a piece that was cream but I again coloured to match with glimmer mist.
And a box to match.
The sizes of the triangles took some working out though.

Happy Anniversary D & M

Happy anniversary xx Wish we were there (although I guess G&P don't!!)

This card was inspired from here I did have to change a couple of measurements to suit my card.
The banner was made with a triangle of funky foam, stuck to my acrylic block. I inked the edges to create the 'bunting' the letter stamps are from a 99p wooden set. I then cut them out as a strip and was able to bend it into shape. The papers are a nitwits download - Tour of London. The image is Lili of the valley - together forever, coloured with spectrum noir.
