New stash

Very excited this morning as I received my prize from sketch saturday #198 which was a $25 voucher for simon says stamp. I can't believe I only ordered them last Sunday and they arrived today :)
Here is what I bought
Three dies by memory box. They cut so well (only one pass on my bigshot) and are so intricate. The butterfly comes in 2 parts, the body is separate to the wings so can be cut in different colours.
And yes Marg some of these will be 'winging' their way to Spain!

No card today

I had a bit of bad news yesterday, I didn't get the job that I went for :( but on the positive side I have more time on my hands :) So yesterday decided to make the most of the lovely weather (I know the words UK and lovely weather don't normally go together, but it was sunny and warm) and set off from a nearby village on a 6.5 mile geocache (google it, you know you want to!) hunt. I didn't realise just how many public footpaths there are, criss crossing across fields of sheep and lambs, cows and a scary bull and horses. Here are a few piccies, sorry they were taken with my phone so I couldn't zoom in.

Most of the walk all I could see in any direction was green fields - bliss, no road noise, just birdies tweeting and lambs bleating.

I had such fun last week, snooping, looking at every bodies workspace last week, I thought I would join in again this week :)
As there is not much going on on my desk, just a few die cuts and stamped images, I thought I would share my whole work area, it actually looks quite tidy.

Mother's Day

Her are the 2 Mother's Day cards that I made...
This first one all elements were made from white card except the oval die cut (which was kraft card but I didn't like it!) The backing paper is inked with distress ink using brushes, then stamped with butterfly kisses stamps, the main image is little claires coloured with spectrum noirs and sukura glitter pen, the flowers are punched and die cut, coloured with inks and sprays and glitter glue for the centres, the oval die and the corners are embossed with 'olive' embossing powder.
Inside decorated to match with a stamp and die set.
For the second card I used digi papers from Nitwits (affection set) I used the same papers for the flower punches and butterfly dies (Joy crafts) The flowers all have flower soft in the centres. Image is fro Lili of the Valley coloured with prisma pencils.
 Again inside to match

Good morning :)
I've had quite a few questions on my last post about flitterglu, so I thought I would try to explain...
It comes in a small pot, and is a wet glue.
You apply about half a teaspoon to a small piece of cut and dry, which then becomes you 'ink pad' They recommend washing it out after each use, but I have kept mine in a small airtight container for 3 days now :) and it's still fine (I might add a drop of water to the container to keep it damp in there)
'Ink' your stamp with the glue and stamp onto card (very quickly as it will adhere to the card) and wash you stamp straight away with water. The glue will remain very tacky and you can go back to it the following day. You then cover the entire image with gilding flake (I used crafty notions flakes) and use a gentle sponge to take away the flakes that are not stuck.
As you can see from these pics the detail is amazing, even the very small script has gilded perfectly.
And a close up of the detail.
There is a starter kit available, but I just went for the glue as I already had some flakes and the cut a dry, Quite a few places online are now selling this (the maker is Indigoblu, who also have some lovely looking stamps) apparently you can also use this with clear stamps but I've not tried that yet.
I hope this helps :)

I have an interview this morning which I'm feeling very nervous about, so this has been a great distraction for me :) Anyone that knows me will know that I was made redundant 6/7 weeks ago when the company I was at went into administration, so after 16 years at the same place I'm shaking at the thought of going somewhere else.

What's on your workdesk wednesday?
I've decided to play along with WOYWW. As you can see the card I made for yesterdays post is sitting waiting to be bagged and put in my card box. My new pot of 'flitterglu' (which I received yesterday) I only had a quick play with this yesterday and I LOVE it!! But now I need to get some silver flakes :)

Sweet Blossom

I have been playing with this card all day, I think I'm happy with it now :)
I have made this for 2 challenges
Sketch Saturday week #198
Wild Orchid Challenge week 44 - get in shape

My image is Sweet blossom digi, coloured with prisma pencils.
The oval die is by Cheery Lynn, the edging scallop is a die by Nellie Snellen, the butterflies are a stamp and die set by Sizzix/Hero Arts which have been embossed with pomegranate WOW embossing powder, the papers are from Nitwit Designs, the flowers are from WOC (with fired brick distress ink around the edges)
I need more white flowers I think, I love to colour them to match my card rather than trying to get every colour.
